It took a while to get everything together, but I finished the wall hanging at last! I ended up using two layers of soft medium weight stabilizer for the designs. I used a museum binding and have tabs on the back for hanging. The sashing is a metallic ribbon, so it’s a little puckered. But, overall, you can see the designs came out lovely! It really made a nice Easter display. Thanks for you help and advice!
My next project is the Eagle Owl — a pattern I bought years ago. I’m focused now, so I’m really excited to get started on that challenge. I’m even thinking of doing it on balsa wood!
Laura
Laura – you did a really beautiful job. It looks very professional! I’m sure it brought joy to a lot of people. How is the Owl coming :)?? Suz
Bronk especially hates to be picked up. Getting him to the vet when necessary is a horrible ordeal. The Vet suggested we put the carrier down and let them get used to it. I think they’ve gotten used to it! This is a normal size carrier for a regular smaller cat. I don’t know how they’ve managed to stuff their combined 36 pounds in there. LOL
At first I thought the paw sticking out belonged to Bronk (whose face you see) but that is Duma’s. I know cats like warm spots, but it’s 87 degrees out today it has to be really hot in that carrier LOL

I wanted to share with you my version of the Steampunk Lady. It was my first split design I ever stitched. Although nothing I do is ever perfect, I was really pleased with the results.
Well, Lois, you should be pleased – I think she looks fantastic – great job. And I’m sure your lady will help encourage others to try the large designs!!! I like the stitching you did in the background too. Suz
Hi Suz,
It is time for Christmas trees to appear again.
Five years ago I stitched your Large Christmas Tree 2012 (BFC-1220) on a single sheet of balsa wood that was 18″ x 26″ and framed it to a completed size of 20″ x 27″ as a wall hanging.
This year I again used the design to make another wall hanging and during the five years it had grown and needed a 22″ x 30″ piece of balsa wood, framed out to a finished size of 24 1/4″ x 33″ and took on a trimming of lights.

I love your embroidery on Balsa wood – the trees really look great on it.
Tiger quilt made for friend. King size, log cabins are 6″. Sorry about the blurry pic, but hopefully I’ll be able to get a better one when I can find someone to hold it up for me…(maybe two or three someones)
Thanks for your help on lining up the tiger Suz.
Verona
It’s wonderful Verona! The large embroideries look excellent as a quilt center! And a King size – so much work on that bed 🙂
Fred,
Just wanted to let you know the Camaro stitched out great! I made a few changes to the file to make it match our car. It looks really good.

I’ll send you a photo soon cause I did not have the fibers so did something a little different but actually love.
Completion of Stained Glass Floral Triptych. Don’t think photo does it any real justice. Since I didn’t have fibers, I used a lightly molted batik and iris, gold and a light brown metallic in all of the open areas. It sparkles. I’ll send another pix when completed. Jody
I love what you’ve done in place of the fibers on the Floral Triptych! Very creative and really pretty. Suz
Well, here it is! I somehow managed to get the very first joining line off just enough to tweet the entire stitch out, but didn’t realize that until the head was put on! I love it anyway and so will my Dad!! I just need to give it a good steam press (using a pressing cloth) and add a small border with hanging tags. Comments today at our quilting group were: is that a fabric panel? How real looking! Beautiful….and of course, Carol – you’re crazy!!!
Maybe I’ll do another one some day when I am not rushed. Thank you for ALL your help and encouragement.
Carol
I got two of these Geisha panels years and years ago from E-Quilter online, and just recently decided to do something with one of them. Can’t see it in the pic, but I outlined most of the wisteria, flowers, stream and the Geishas and with matching threads. Then I cross-hatched the black borders and then hand stitched all the Geisha heads and the warriors. I also used black batting. Decided since it “could” be reversible I made tabs and used a bamboo plant stake to hang it from.
Sunny
I’m envious sunny!!!! I got that same panel way back and mine has not been stitched into anything yet. This is a beautiful use for it! I like the balance between the individual designs and the large panel.
