Used the Safari Series to make toy bags. They are drawstring bucket bags and fully lined: the original has a clear plastic window on one side and the embroidery on the other. Had to re-engineer it to accommodate the height (Toy Bag 2.0) Parents like to use them for stuffed animals because stuffies are dust collectors, or to take favorite toys to Grandma’s house. In later years they can be used as laundry bags. Your Safari Series worked perfectly and these bags will be very popular. Jan
This is a super idea Jan!!!! So many designs could be used depending on the child or the parents wishes! Suz

These designs can be purchased individually or in a combo set.
From Laura:
I finished and framed, [quilted and bound] your BFC’s design,1496- Large Mountain Lion, and it is Awesome! I intend to use a small, natural branch and raw ride shoe laces as the hanger.
I did not have all the correct colors of thread. I was missing 2731-Hemp and 2793-Camel, substituted the best I could and wa-la, an awesome big cat. I think this would have turned out better if I had used the correct colors, but using the golden brown border fabric pulled out the browner tones of the puma and not the taupe tones. All in all, I am pleased with the results.
I would warn anyone intending to do this embroidery, it is time consuming! Although the 5 parts of this design are easily matched, each section has 11-21 color changes and is stitch intensive. I actually used 2 layers of Warm and Natural batting under the stitch out. First I used a fusible, woven interfacing to stiffen the fabric, then quilted it to the first layer of batting, then placed the second layer of batting under the design area before I started to stitch. I used a size 14 top stitch needle, and all went well there after. I also used 2 layers of tear-away stabilizer in the hoop. I would rather have a bit much in the under layers than not enough and have to deal with puckers in the top fabric.
Thanks for about the hundreth time for all the work you and Fred do on all of BFC’s incredible designs. Until next time, happy stitching!
As always a gorgeous job, Laura! Suz I lik the colors with the border.

Renee has stitched so much over time! She found this bunch of photos and sent them to my group. Enjoy!

John does beautiful embroidery work on Balsa Wood. They make gorgeous framed pictures!~!
Tiger quilt made for friend. King size, log cabins are 6″.
Sorry about the blurry pic, but hopefully I’ll be able to get a
better one when I can find someone to hold it up for me…(maybe two or
three someones)
Thanks for your help on lining
up the tiger Suz. Verona

Vera is my friend from Russia that does the most beautiful projects! She thinks of every detail. You can tell she puts a lot of thought into her work and pays attention to every detail.Thank you Vera so giving BFC such a wonderful showcase!
From her words: BFC has so many talented, beautiful designs! – I am very pleased to embroider them and I want people to see this embroidery. That’s why I embroider these designs not only as pictures – but, for example, on bags. Love the designs by BFC! – and so it turned out that I only embroider their or my own designs. I’ve got a lot of works using designs from Suz Makalinaw and Fred Smilde! – I’ll show you the autumn succoyage and the eyeglass with an eagle – these are very different works, but both things are incredibly beautifu
Here are just some of works:

The above design is no longer on our site – I may bring it back.

Hi Suz!
I just wanted to share my progress on this design. I’m absolutely in love with it! Now that I have worked out the formatting haha. I’m so sorry, you must think I’m rather daft. I understand the formatting now, I won’t have any questions in the future.
It stitches out so beautifully without one single hitch. Not one thread break which I find incredible considering the level of detail! I’ve still got a few more things to add to the overall design but I’ve already had a lot of comments on the tiger. I haven’t made anything for myself for ages, this one is really special.
I will definitely be stocking up on more of your designs, I have a wish list as long as my arm! Sophie
Your jacket is just beautiful Sophie. I love the contrast of the tiger and the flowers – strength and beauty. Suz

Marilynn and I were talking and I asked if she had any photos of her work I could post. I was so surprised and thrilled when she sent me these.
In her words:
This is a small sample of the many BFC Designs I’ve done. I give away or sell about 80% of the designs I’ve done over the years. I’ve recommended BFC to lots of others with my same obsession. Keep digitizing please! Marilynn

It’s going to take me awhile to get all the links for the sets!!!
Thank you Marilynn for sharing so much of your work.
