Hi Suz,
Of course you may post anything of mine you like on your stash gallery.
I have used your fibers in two of my quilts. The first was Twin Peaks where I made grass along the roadway. The other is Bernal Park, which you have seen recently. I will add these two to this email.
My next project is a seascape, so I won’t need more fibers yet, but I do intend to keep experimenting with eyelash yarn….and you have such a great collection in your stash I will be back to purchase more.
Thank you for your kind words and attention to my work.
Joanie

From Laura:
I finished and framed, [quilted and bound] your BFC’s design,1496- Large Mountain Lion, and it is Awesome! I intend to use a small, natural branch and raw ride shoe laces as the hanger.
I did not have all the correct colors of thread. I was missing 2731-Hemp and 2793-Camel, substituted the best I could and wa-la, an awesome big cat. I think this would have turned out better if I had used the correct colors, but using the golden brown border fabric pulled out the browner tones of the puma and not the taupe tones. All in all, I am pleased with the results.
I would warn anyone intending to do this embroidery, it is time consuming! Although the 5 parts of this design are easily matched, each section has 11-21 color changes and is stitch intensive. I actually used 2 layers of Warm and Natural batting under the stitch out. First I used a fusible, woven interfacing to stiffen the fabric, then quilted it to the first layer of batting, then placed the second layer of batting under the design area before I started to stitch. I used a size 14 top stitch needle, and all went well there after. I also used 2 layers of tear-away stabilizer in the hoop. I would rather have a bit much in the under layers than not enough and have to deal with puckers in the top fabric.
Thanks for about the hundreth time for all the work you and Fred do on all of BFC’s incredible designs. Until next time, happy stitching!
As always a gorgeous job, Laura! Suz I lik the colors with the border.

As always, Genene does beautiful work!

It’s been a long time finishing! Surgery and recovery got in the way. But I’m so pleased with the design.
Thank you Suz Makalinaw for this terrific design. My daughter is going to love it! Had to put glass over it so her kitties don’t destroy it.
sorry about the glare![]()

We have recently joined with Delight of Delight’s Fantasy Art to create designs from her art. Sharon has made a wonderful start with her stitchouts! When she posted them on our Facebook group I asked if I could share them here. 🙂

Such a beautiful professional job! You can really be proud of this for sure 🙂

We were discussing constellations and outer space and this was written by Renee:
These include some designs from elsewhere on here also, but this was very special. Skye had a dream one night, and told me about it, I wrote it down. THE NEXT DAY you posted the outer space designs and when Skye looked at them she said YES GRAMA! Those are the pictures of my dream! So we made her ‘book’. The ‘fire’ one she designed herself. And she was 3.5 at the time.
This is the Outer Space designs.
Renee, Skye and I have been friends for many years through BFC. Skye is off to college this year!!!

I think we can take a great idea to help our children develop their creative size. I can think os several ways to do this. One is to look through designs with your child and ask for their thoughts and opinions. Make note of ones they really like and what they say about them. Another is to give them a topic – might be pets, family – or Outer space – and look through designs with them for things that express the topic. Again record their choices and write down what they say. You can make a wall hanging, or a book of the results. It would be great to look through as they developed new ideas!
I love this method of displaying embroideries! It looks like a real painting.
This is how I did the embroidery on the canvas…Genene
