Carol’s Eagle

Well, here it is!  I somehow managed to get the very first joining line off just enough to tweet the entire stitch out, but didn’t realize that until the head was put on!  I love it anyway and so will my Dad!!  I just need to give it a good steam press (using a pressing cloth) and add a small border with hanging tags.  Comments today at our quilting group were:  is that a fabric panel?  How real looking!  Beautiful….and of course, Carol – you’re crazy!!!

Maybe I’ll do another one some day when I am not rushed.  Thank you for ALL your help and encouragement.

Carol

Sunny’s Beautiful Wall hanging

I got two of these Geisha panels years and years ago from E-Quilter online, and just recently decided to do something with one of them.  Can’t see it in the pic, but I outlined most of the wisteria, flowers, stream and the Geishas and with matching threads.  Then I cross-hatched the black borders and then hand stitched all the Geisha heads and the warriors.  I also used black batting.  Decided since it “could” be reversible I made tabs and used a bamboo plant stake to hang it from.
Sunny

I’m envious sunny!!!!  I got that same panel way back and mine has not been stitched into anything yet.  This is a beautiful use for it!  I like the balance between the individual designs and the large panel.

Jan’s Owlbert Einstein

From Jan:  I love this design.  I donated this one to a silent auction in support of the arts programs at our local community college.

I asked if I could post him here:

Absolutely.  Before I sent it I went to your BLOG to see all the projects others have made and there wasn’t an Owlbert.  I mounted mine on canvas.  Owlbert got a lot of buzz at the auction and he did well.  Jan

He is just gorgeous Jan – I love the way you have created him.  Suz

Art Deco Ladies Quilt

Hi Suz,

I thought you might like to see the quilt that I have made for my 14 years

old grand-daughter. She chose your designs, and when you put up some

freebies, I thought they would mix in OK with the others. It’s taken me

about 5 months to do this, but I have done other smaller things in between.

I’m quite pleased with it, and I hope she will be too!

Regards, Pat

Connie’s Bags

Here are a couple pictures of my recently-completed bag.  A fellow sewist saw it at the last Embroidery in Motion meeting when I took it for show-n-tell.  She called me a few days later & said she bought the pattern from you because she liked mine so well.   I’m now working on the Kokopelli bag.  I just finished the bag part — very gorgeous.  Now for the lining.  I bought all the threads for that one from you all.  Such gorgeous colors!  The bag will be a gift for my DIL-to-be.  She & my son will be married in September & plan to start a family right away.  So Kokopelli, being a fertility god, will perhaps be of some assistance!

Thanks for great products & greater service!

~Connie

I hope you have loads of Grandkids by now Connie!!!  Suz

Nadina’s Jacket

Hi Suz,

Here are photos of a jacket I made.  This is how I found BFC!  I wanted a large dragonfly design for the back this came up in my Google search.  It was perfect – dragonflies, large design, beautiful colors.

I have a multi-needle, so I decided to figure out a way to work it in only  10 colors. I( don’t always do this, but my previous project was an embroidered quilt and each block had more than 10 colors – I wanted a break from changing threads!)

I did a test stitchout because there is so much shading and  I needed to know exactly where every color was used to be sure I didn’t end up with something odd. I think I did a second test stitchout because I still was undecided if jacket would be orange it’s purple lapels or purple with orange lapels.  I have learned that colors on a purple background look different than those same colors on an orang background.  But, it is worth all the time doing tests.

The other embroidery designs are not yours, so I understand if you don’t post those pictures.

I am happy I found your site. I previously sent pictures of a couple things I made from your designs for my mom. She loves them.  The angel was hung up right away and then moved several times as my mom looked for their perfect spot.  I was so happy to make something for her that she loves.

Nadina

I asked Nadina about the jacket pattern: N

Thank you.  The pattern is from Lisette for Butterick B6169 https://oliverands.com/shop/lisette-for-butterick-b6169-sewing-pattern.html

Yes, the jacket is all mine!  And I wear it.  I should have left a bit more ease in the back to account for the stiffness, but I don’t care.  I was pleased that I finished it (first time making a lined jacket).  Yeah, I know the bright colors aren’t for everyone, but it is very me!

Lori’s Wall Hanging

Hello Suz,

Thank you very much for the threads chart, I printed out and get thing ready for stitching.  I am very honor that you post my pictures.

Some of these pictures are a little better than previous one.

The Rock Point Bridge was my very first put together as  a title design.

The New England Charm was my second title design, when I put together I sprayed water at the seams, that make it very soft and pliable, easy to sew.

Thanks again, Lori

That’s a great idea about spraying the seams with water first!  Thanks Lori.

A Jazzy Handbag by Mary

Hello Suz,

I have finished my bag using your designs, and I’m pretty pleased with it as it is my first bag ever! I’ve replace the black outlines as I said with metallic copper thread, and the white swirls in the Saxophone with light gold thread.

When I next do a handbag, I will place my designs higher up to take more account of the amount of fabric that goes under with the base. I hope the photos are good enough, though I can take more tomorrow if you would like better ones.

I hope you like it, Thanks, Mary White
