Kay’s Vest and Handbag

I have used the BFC 830 Passion Flower Bag Pattern and designs for my project.

My daughter gave me the pre-made vest for a gift.  It is beautifully made and I thought that I could improve it by adding some beautiful machine embroidery to it.That year I was going to a patchwork retreat with lots of like-minded ladies.  –  Are you like me? Do you like to show off things that you make to people who appreciate the work that goes into it – not like showing my husband – or my work colleagues  – even my patchwork friends – who back   – even my patchwork friends – who back in 2009 weren’t into machine embroidery. So I decided to make a lovely bag and decorate the vest with the same designs. The colours of the Passion Flower designs were exactly what I had in mind. I must say it was a hit.

I purchased the “Passion Flower Bag” pattern and designs from Suz.  I made the bag using cream and brown silk that I had bought from our dear friend Sylvia.  The design stitched out beautifully on the silk and the pattern was excellent with very good instructions for making it.  I then used the designs to embroider across the back of the vest and over the left shoulder.  I was very happy with the finished project and always get a lot of comments when I wear it.

I LOVE this Kay!  I wear vests all the time.  this is a really stunning outfit.  No wonder you get lots of comments!  This is a great example of how the designs on our bags don.t have to be used only for bags!  Suz

Doreen’s Humming bird Bag

I love hummingbirds so had to make this.

The brown batik I brought back from Bali this summer. The green blue batik looks to me like shadows in the branches and leaves of the trees

I made the handle longer so I could get it over my head and shoulder.

I have pockets all the way around inside. This is the first contest I have entered.

I love the colors you used 🙂 Suz

Sue’s Floral Expressions

I just picked this up from the framer and am very happy with how it turned out! Floral Expressions #1, the largest size.😳 Completing a design such as this is not easy and though it’s not perfect, it deserves to be framed! Babylock Meridian really came through for me as IQ positioning was very helpful.  Sue

Second Photo:   Framed to match a prior piece I posted, this one is designed to look like a tiling scene upon completion. Through an intricate process of stitching individual squares and realigning the background fabric with each new tile, the process requires both precision, patience and time. This one has 9 tiles. 😳 Completing a design such as this is not easy and though it’s not perfect, it deserves to be framed!

Jan’s Art Deco Ladies

Hi Suz,Thought you might like to see what I did with a couple of your Art Deco ladies designs.

Cosmetic bag sets:  a bucket bag with a complimentary pouch and east/west bag.  I used a vector graphic to create the Art Deco border so that I could match up the 3 pieces into a set.

I’ll be using these as samples of the graphic digitizing in the embroidery software I’ll soon be teaching.   Don’t worry, I didn’t touch the lady designs – they’re perfect as they are.

Theresa’s Sally King Spring Hare

Hi Susan,

I just thought you might like to see the “Spring Hare” stitched out on a table runner I made for Easter/Spring.   At first I thought it was very strange as the colors I used were darker than I wanted, but he’s cute either way.   Thanks for having such nice designs.

Annette’s Tigers

Annette first stitched our Tiger in it’s normal colors, then she talked to me about doing a white tiger.  I gave her some ideas and she did a fantastic job! Please always feel free to contact me about an idea you might have or how to do something.  🙂 Suz

From Annette:    Hello, wanted to show you my tigers and wasn’t sure about blog if you did or I. I used three whites for the white tiger and as you can see i flipped him. Hope you like. The plan is to frame them but haven’t gotten that far.

I love using the different whites – they add life and substance!  Suz
