Laura’s Cherry Tree

Happy Easter!  You chuckled when I ordered this design, but here’s proof positive that I do love and use the designs I order!  Here’s my take on the Cherry Tree Branch Design, 0528, by Chantell.  It’s a bit whimsical with fantastic colors, 3-D embroidered flowers and 6 lovely little chickadees.  The flowers and chickadees are embroidered on felt, cut out and glued in place to give a dimensional appearance, and each flower has a crystal heat-set in the center.  It’s a happy, quilted and embroidered project that will hang over my living-room couch.  Please forward to Chantell and thank you both for this design.

Until next time,

Laura

I love how Laura added the raised flowers!  They change a nice wall quilt into an Art quilt!

Sharon’s Hummingbirds

FINISHED !!!!! Still not sure if I will make a pillow or frame it. For my first attempt I am pretty happy with it and first time really doing design positioning. I usually just place fabric and hope it works. I do have a new Husqvarna Designer RUBY 90  that I have never truly put to use so actually used it to move the design in the machine for the last three designs. So thank you for helping me keep my brain active in these days. I wondered if you could take a quick look and see if the first two are lined up as much as they should be? I was so intimated doing them and wasn’t really sure what I was doing – lol – and one more question what stabilizer do you use? I thought I had read “tear away” and I used that but not sure it was strong enough. I usually use a poly-mesh? and just leave it in the design? am wondering as certainly by the end of the tail I have puckering ? I wouldn’t ask you so many questions except I think I will try another one and maybe use your idea of mirroring for pillows !  Thank you again for your patience and your responses – for sure am telling both my embroidery groups of how helpful you have been. Have a blessed Easter weekend, Sharon

I’ve posted all of Sharon’s questions because i think a lot of us have questions like these on new designs.  I’ll answer for the stabilizer.  I would recommend a medium tear away sticky stabilizer.  I started using this after i had done this design and i love it for so many things.  I use the Weidner brand.    Suz

Jan’s Sally King Shoes

Jan makes shoe bags and puts one of Sally shoes on them!  What a great idea.  Suz

Attaching some pics of shoe bags.  They are fully lined with a dividing panel in the middle so that the 2 shoes don’t scratch each other.  Have given away at least a dozen (each one is different).  Will have to make some new friends as I still enjoy making them.    Jan

Sonya’s Wreath for her office

I am very intrigued by this wreath and have been as possible before purchasing. Do any of the files associated with the leaves  and/or flowers suggest the use of mylar as well? I looked at the size charts and  see the number of thread colors and just wasn’t sure. I saw where mylar is a
possibility on the autumn wreath.

I have never used mylar to embroider with before and thought it might be  fun! I want to do something unique for my interior office door.
I wanted to share. I used your creations and changed some colors and added a butterfly, bumble and ladybug. This going up on my office door at work. You can bet down the road I will be getting the Fall and Christmas wreaths as well!

Thank you!

Sonya – I love the 3 additions you made!!! They really make the wreath pop.  thanks so much for such a great job-Suz
